We are a small friendly Society with members of mixed ability. We aim to enjoy art and to learn more about style, technique and the use of different media through demonstrations and talks. Why not just come along and see us on a Wednesday afternoon or Friday evening.
See our membership page for more information about joining the society and the benefits available.
Wednesday painting
Every Wednesday afternoon from 1.00 to 3.45.pm members meet at St Sebastian’s Hall for our Painting Club. This is a non-tutored, “Do your own thing” session. It is a great way to get to know other people and a good incentive to work in a relaxed, light-hearted atmosphere.
Although Wednesdays are non-tutored there is always help and encouragement from other members. A still life is set up by a member on the first Wednesday each month and those who wish to can take advantage of this while others continue with their own work.
Demos & Workshops
In order to learn more about style, technique and the use of different media we invite practicing artists to give demonstrations. The demonstrations are open to members and non-members. These meets are usually on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at St Sebastian’s Memorial Hall from 7.30 to 9.30pm.
The annual programme covers a variety of subjects and is designed to cover the widest possible range of styles, media and techniques. There are also regular workshops.
Exhibitions
Two big exhibitions are held each year. These are open to all members who have belonged to the society for at least 3 months. Paintings can be framed for hanging or mounted as portfolio paintings.
April – St. Michael’s Pastoral Centre, Lower Church Road, Sandhurst, GU47 8HN
October – St Sebastian’s Hall, Crowthorne, RG40 3BA
The club may also exhibit work at other sites during the year
